Disposing of your IT assets just got easier!

What do you do with your company’s second hand desktops, laptops, printers and servers, when it’s time to upgrade?

There’s so much to think about! Security - how can you keep your company’s sensitive data out of the wrong hands? Even hitting the disc drive with a hammer won’t always work... Toxic waste - computers and other IT equipment contain heavy metals, you shouldn’t just dump them, so what do you do?

You need a professional solution. Now, thanks to Corporate Express, there is an answer – and it’s guilt free as a bonus!

“At Corporate Express, we make it easy for you to dispose of your legacy assets“ says Sam Elsha, National Manager – Strategic Accounts for the IT Solutions Division.

“As part of our Total Lifecycle Management (TLM) process, when we supply and install new IT assets for our customers, we usually decommission the old ones for you – in the most secure and environmentally responsible approach available today.

“Sure Data Destruction is one of the most important things our customers ask for. We use a strict quality control process, and we offer a choice of data destruction services ranging from data shredding (the most advanced form of sure data destruction available globally) to a three-pass data overwrite process via an enterprise level, industry-accredited, government and Defence approved program. These processes can be applied to desktop, notebook, server and selected print devices.

“Proof of successful completion of data erasure can be provided through a consignment item summary, listing each item against a ‘certificate of destruction’ certificate.

“We would then remove any bar codes, stickers or any other identifying marks that can identify the previous owner.

Assets that have commercial re-sale value (generally 3 year old assets) will be re-sold with all monies going back to our customers.

“If resale isn’t feasible - usually due to age or faults - we go through a disposal process.  Each unit is disassembled down to plastic, glass, circuit boards, batteries; and precious metals for recycling in an environmentally-responsible way.

“If requested, we can provide a report on each device, via a Consolidated Asset report detailing exactly how each piece of equipment was dealt with.

“Our TLM program ensures ‘zero landfill’ of legacy assets – which is good for the environment, and good for our customers’ corporate social responsibility programs,” says Sam.
